Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the point of this FAQ?
A: To answer some of your frequently asked questions about John and Becca's impending nuptials.

Q: Where are you registered?
A: We are not registered. The only thing we wanted was a spaetzle maker, and we bought one already because we just couldn't wait. We are, however, saving up for a honeymoon to India and a down payment on a house.

Q: Couldn't you find anyone your own size to marry?
A: No.

Q: Why are you having two weddings, one in New York, and one in California?
A: Our families live approximately 3,000 miles apart, so rather than ask a bunch of people to travel a long way, we decided to make the trip ourselves and have two relatively simple weddings.

Q: What is the dress code?
A: For the California wedding, let's call it "exceptionally casual lakewear." For the New York wedding, let's call it "daytime summer casual," meaning that jackets are optional and ties will be mocked.

Q: Why are you going to India for your honeymoon? Isn't it super hot and miserable there?
A: We're going for a while to the nice beach part of India (yes, that does exist), and then we'll travel around a bit because we're adventurous like that.

Q: Are these questions people have actually asked you or are you just making them up as you go?
A: Both.

Q: Is Becca going to take John's name?
A: Yes. Her name will be Becca Bloomquist, which is obviously an awesome name (although of course Netter is an awesome name, too).

Q: Why are you getting married so soon after getting engaged?
A: Because we aren't planning every detail of a massive event, it hasn't taken long to plan.  We also got a lot of help from our tireless parents.

Q: Do I need to fill out my choice for food somewhere? What if I have dietary restrictions?
A: No, we will be having buffet-style meals, so you can choose exactly what you want. We will have vegetarian options, but if you have allergies or another need please email us!

Q: Is it okay to be late?
A: Yes, but the last person to arrive has to play the bagpipes.

Q: May I ask more questions that are perhaps not posed as frequently?
A: You may! Please email Becca or John, or post a comment below.
